Is there a ParserBee community node for n8n?

No, and you do not need one. The workflows use n8n's built-in HTTP Request node, so there is nothing to install and they run on n8n Cloud as well as self-hosted n8n.

Does n8n OCR work on scanned PDFs and photos?

Yes. ParserBee does the OCR, so scanned PDFs and phone photos come back with the same fields as digital PDFs.

Can I send the data somewhere other than Google Sheets?

Yes. Replace the last node with any n8n node: Airtable, Xero, QuickBooks, Slack, a database or a webhook. Or use the built-in Google Sheets and Airtable integrations with no workflow at all.

Build a Parser Template
A Parser Template is the list of fields you want from each invoice. Upload one sample and the AI suggests the fields, or start from a ready-made one in the template library. Every supplier's layout then comes back with the same fields.

Copy your API key and template ID
In the ParserBee dashboard, open Settings > API Keys and copy your key (it starts with pk_). Then open your Parser Template and copy its template ID.

Import a workflow
Pick a workflow from the list below and download its JSON file. In n8n, open a new workflow, click the ... menu, choose Import from File and select it. You can also paste the JSON straight onto the canvas.

Add the API key as a credential
Open the ParserBee: extract data node. Under Credential for Header Auth, create a new credential named ParserBee API key, with the name x-api-key and your key as the value. Every ParserBee node in your workflows can reuse it.

Paste your template ID and test
In the same node, replace PASTE_YOUR_TEMPLATE_ID in the template_id field. Connect your Google account in the Drive, Gmail or Sheets nodes, then click Test workflow.
The node sends the file as form data and gets back your fields in data. Activate the workflow and it runs on every new file or email.

Tips for a smooth set-up

Any document type

The workflows work with any Parser Template. The Code node treats the first list in the result (such as line_items) as the rows.

Folder workflow needs self-hosted n8n

It reads files from the n8n server's disk. If you set N8N_RESTRICT_FILE_ACCESS_TO, the folder must be inside it. The other three also run on n8n Cloud.

Send it anywhere

Swap the last node for Airtable, Xero, QuickBooks, Slack, Postgres or any other n8n node; the ParserBee step stays the same.

Files and limits

PDF, PNG, JPG, WebP and HEIC files up to 50 MB. Each extraction costs 1 page credit per page.

Already online?

Send JSON with template_id and file_url instead of a file, as the webhook workflow does. The link must open without a login.
