Cash application automation that reads every remittance advice.
Customers pay ten invoices in one transfer and explain it in a PDF, an email or a check stub. ParserBee reads every remittance, in every customer's layout, and gives you one row per invoice paid, ready to match.
Cash application stalls on reading remittances.
Your bank statement shows the money. The remittance advice says what it pays. Until someone reads one against the other, the cash sits unapplied and paid invoices still look overdue.
One payment, many invoices
A customer pays 12 invoices in one transfer, minus a credit note. The bank line says only the total and a short reference.
Every customer, a new layout
Each customer's AP system sends its own remittance advice. Your team reads every layout by eye and types the lines in.
Remittances arrive everywhere
PDFs in the AR inbox, text in an email body, check stubs by mail, downloads from customer portals.
Remittance processing without the retyping.
Upload one remittance advice and the AI template builder builds the fields in about 20 seconds. From then on, the same Parser Template reads every customer's remittance, whatever their AP system prints.
- Payer, payment date, method, reference and total
- One row per invoice or credit note paid
- Discounts, deductions and the reason given
- Your own fields, described in plain English

Build the template once
Upload one remittance advice. The AI proposes the fields, including the payment lines. Run the test and check it against the paper.
Read the remittances
Drop a week of remittances into Data Lab, up to 100 at once, or let Zapier, Make or n8n send each new one from your AR inbox.
Match and post
Export to Excel or Google Sheets and match on invoice number, or import the rows into your accounting tool. Check only the short payments.
From remittance rows to paid invoices in one formula.
ParserBee is not an AR suite. It reads the remittances; the match happens where your open invoices already live. Send the rows to a linked Google Sheet, and one SUMIF on the invoice number shows what each customer paid against each invoice.
- Every remittance line lands in the same columns
- Paid, short paid or still open, at a glance
- Your team looks at the exceptions, not every line

Cash application software for the tools you already have.
Keep your accounting system and your bank. ParserBee sits between the AR inbox and your books: the rows go into Google Sheets or Airtable, or into QuickBooks, Xero or your ERP through Zapier, Make, n8n, a CSV file or the API.
Building it yourself? The document parsing API returns the same fields as JSON, with Python and Node.js libraries.
The same account reads the rest of your finance paperwork.
83 ready-made document parser templates across 16 industries, plus any document you build a template for.
Bank statements
The other half of the match: every transaction to Excel or CSV.

What is a remittance advice? →Cash application questions
What is cash application?
Cash application is the accounts receivable step that matches each customer payment to the invoices it pays, then marks those invoices as paid. The bank statement shows that money arrived; the customer's remittance advice says which invoices it covers.
What is cash application automation?
It is software doing the slow parts of cash application: reading the remittance advice, finding the invoice numbers and amounts, and matching them to open invoices. Large AR suites do all of it in one product. ParserBee does the reading, which is where most of the typing is, and gives you rows you can match in a spreadsheet or import into your accounting tool.
Does ParserBee match payments to invoices for me?
No. ParserBee reads remittance advices and gives you the payment details and every invoice line as rows. The match happens where your open invoices are: a lookup in Excel or Google Sheets, a CSV import into your accounting tool, or a step in a Zapier, Make or n8n workflow. ParserBee has no bank feed and does not post payments.
Can one Parser Template read every customer's remittance advice?
Yes. ParserBee reads each document by meaning, not by where a value sits on the page, so one remittance Parser Template reads every customer's layout. A new customer's first remittance needs no set-up.
What does it read from a remittance advice?
The fields you choose. A typical remittance Parser Template reads the payer, payment date, payment method, payment reference and total paid, plus one row per payment line with the invoice number, invoice date, gross amount, discount or deduction, the reason for it, and the amount paid. Add any other field by describing it in plain English.
How do I set it up?
Sign up, click Create Template and choose Build it with AI. Upload one remittance advice (PDF, PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 15 MB) and the AI template builder proposes the fields in about 20 seconds. Check them, run the test, then upload the rest in Data Lab. There is no ready-made remittance template yet, so this is the way to start.
Which file types can it read?
PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC, so digital PDFs, scanned check stubs and phone photos all work. Data Lab also reads emails saved as .eml files, Excel (XLSX) and CSV, which helps when a customer types the remittance in the email body or sends a spreadsheet.
Can it pick up remittances from our AR inbox?
Does it work with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or my ERP?
Yes, through Zapier, Make, n8n, the document parsing API or a CSV import. ParserBee has no direct connector to an accounting system today. Google Sheets and Airtable are built in.
How does it handle short payments and deductions?
Add a deduction field and a reason field to the payment lines, and ParserBee reads them where the customer gives them. In your sheet, any line where the amount paid is less than the amount due shows up as short paid, so your team sees the exceptions instead of checking every line.
What is the difference between cash application and bank reconciliation?
Bank reconciliation checks that your cash account agrees with the bank statement. Cash application goes one level down: it decides which customer invoices each receipt pays. You need the bank statement for both; the free bank statement converter turns PDF statements into rows.
How much does it cost?
New accounts get 25 free pages, no credit card. Paid plans start at $29 a month for 250 pages; see pricing. Each page uses one page credit, so a one-page remittance uses one and a three-page remittance uses three.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. Your documents are never used to train AI models, and files travel to ParserBee over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
