The AI document parser that builds itself from one sample.
Upload one invoice, order, statement or any business document. The AI reads it, works out which details matter and builds your Parser Template in about 20 seconds. Then it tests it on the same file.
Sample invoice: the AI reads it and proposes these fields: Invoice Number, Invoice Date, Due Date, Vendor Name, Line Items (a list of Description, Quantity, Amount), Total Amount.
An AI PDF parser you set up in three steps.
No drawing boxes around values, no rules per supplier, no code. You give it one example and check what it found.
Upload one sample
A PDF, PNG, JPG or WebP file up to 15 MB. Pick a typical example of the document you want to parse.
The AI designs the fields
Names, types and a plain-English description for each one, plus lists for repeating rows such as line items. Remove anything you do not need.
It runs a real test
ParserBee extracts your sample with the new template and shows the rows. Download them as Excel, CSV or PDF straight away.
Built from one sample. Reads every design.
The AI learns what each field means, not where it sits. So the template built from one supplier's invoice reads the next supplier's too, even when it arrives as a scan or a phone photo.
Want one more field? Describe it in a sentence.
Every field has a description that tells the AI what to look for. Write it like you would brief a new colleague. The clearer the description, the more accurate the extraction.
- Add, rename or remove fields at any time
- Say the format you want: dates as YYYY-MM-DD, terms as days
- Changes apply to the next document you extract
Everything a business document holds, in five field types.
The AI picks the type for each field. You can change it in the template editor.
Words, names, codes and dates
Dates are Text too: say the format you want in the description, for example Date in DD/MM/YYYY format.
Totals, amounts and quantities
A value you add up or compare. Phone numbers and reference codes are better as Text.
A true or false answer
For questions such as Is VAT included? or Is the document signed?
Fields that belong together
An address with street, city and postcode, kept under one name.
Repeating rows
Line items, transactions or containers. Each row comes out as its own spreadsheet row.
AI builder, template library or by hand?
All three make the same kind of Parser Template. Start with the AI unless your document is already in the template library.

Three tips for a great first template.
Pick a typical document
Use one with the details you care about filled in. If your invoices usually have line items, pick one that has them.
One template per document type
One invoice template reads every supplier's invoice. Make a separate one for purchase orders or bank statements.
Not quite right? Fix it in a minute
Rename a field or sharpen its description in plain English, then test again. A first pass is rarely perfect, and no technical skills are needed.
Next: run the template on a whole batch in Data Lab, or see how ParserBee works from start to finish.
AI template builder questions
What is an AI document parser?
An AI document parser reads a document the way a person does and returns the details you need as named fields, such as an invoice number, a date, a total and every line item. Unlike a rule-based parser, it does not need you to mark where each value sits on the page, so it keeps working when the layout changes.
How does the AI template builder work?
You upload one sample document. The AI reads it, works out which details matter and designs a Parser Template: field names, types, plain-English descriptions and lists for repeating rows. You remove anything you do not need, and ParserBee runs a real test on the same file so you see the rows straight away.
Which files can I use as the sample?
A PDF, PNG, JPG or WebP file, up to 15 MB. For other formats, such as a phone photo in HEIC, an Excel file or an email, start from a ready-made template or build the fields yourself. Once the template exists, extraction accepts many more formats, including HEIC, Excel, CSV and email files.
How long does it take?
Usually about 20 seconds to build the template, then a few seconds for the test run on your sample.
Does building a template use page credits?
Building the template does not. The test run right after it is a real extraction, so it uses page credits like any other: one per page.
Will a template built from one supplier's invoice work for other suppliers?
Yes. Your sample is only a starting point. The Parser Template reads that type of document in any design, from any company, as a PDF, scan or phone photo. You do not need a new one for each supplier or style.
Can I change what the AI built?
Yes. In the review step you can remove any field. Later, in the template editor, you can rename fields, add new ones, change a type or rewrite a description. The clearer the description, the more accurate the extraction.
Which documents does it work for?
Any business document with details you want in rows: invoices, purchase orders, sales orders, bank statements, receipts, bills of lading, contracts and more. If your document is a common one, there may already be a ready-made template in the document parser templates library.
What do I do with the template once it is built?
Use it everywhere: upload a batch of files in Data Lab, link a Google Sheet or Airtable table, automate it with Zapier, Make or n8n, or call it from the API. The same template works in all of them.
Is my document used to train AI?
No. Your documents are never used to train AI models, and files travel to ParserBee over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
